Major accomplishments: managed $9 million newsroom budget. Administered and negotiated contracts with the Newspaper Guild local and managed newsroom assets.
• Prior positions: Director of Library Services. Installed Knight-Ridder’s first remote electronic library system and revamped newspaper’s local library operation. Director of TelePress. Created and developed KnightRidder research and development project to operate text service on three local cable TV channels, presenting classified advertising, news (local and national), sports, stock market information and animated graphics and full video advertising. Television Critic and columnist. Covered all aspects of television broadcasting (show reviews, celebrity news and interviews and business operations). Played an influential role with coverage of cable television franchise award in Lexington.
EDUCATION
National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to study at the Edward R. Murrow Center for Public Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, jointly operated by Tufts and Harvard Universities. Attended Lexington (KY) Baptist College and Ashland (KY) Community College.
